Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about EveeShare

Where is EveeShare available?

San Diego is our first launch city. We're currently piloting in San Diego to perfect the EveeShare experience before expanding to more cities. The app is available to download across the United States, and we're actively working to expand charger availability to additional regions.

Why San Diego first? We're starting in San Diego to refine our platform, ensure reliability, and build a strong foundation with one of the largest EV communities in California. This pilot helps us perfect the experience before expanding to additional cities.

Outside San Diego? You can still download the app and join our waitlist to be notified when chargers become available in your area. We'll keep you updated as we expand!

How do I become a host?

Sign up as a host, add your charger details, verify your identity, and set your availability and pricing. Once verified, your charger goes live and drivers can book instantly.

How do I become a driver?

Download the EveeShare app, create an account, and add a valid payment method. Once your account is set up, you can immediately search for nearby chargers and book your first session.

Why do I need to verify my identity?

Identity verification helps improve safety and trust between drivers and hosts, and reduces fraud and misuse of the platform. This is a common practice for marketplace platforms that connect people for transactions.

Verification does not guarantee safety or behavior, but it is one of several measures we use to create a safer community. Identity verification is handled by trusted third-party providers, and EveeShare does not store raw identity documents unless required by law.

What charger types can I list?

You can list Level 1, Level 2, DC Fast (non-Tesla), or Tesla chargers. Drivers will see the exact type before booking.

Do I need to be home during the session?

No. As long as the charger is accessible, drivers can plug in and start charging.

How long does a charging session last?

Sessions are booked in fixed time slots, usually between 2 and 4 hours. When a driver books, they choose a start time, and the app shows the exact start and end of their session. You’ll always know how long your charger is reserved and when the next session begins.

What fees does EveeShare charge?

EveeShare takes a small platform fee per session to cover payment processing and support. See our Pricing page for details.

When do I get paid?

Your first payout may take 7–10 business days while payments are verified. After that, payouts are sent on a regular weekly schedule (every Friday).

Can drivers see my full address before booking?

No. Only your general area is shown until you accept or the booking auto-approves.

Are hosts protected if a driver causes damage?

Hosts are responsible for their own chargers. We recommend documenting the condition of your charger and reporting any issues to help resolve disputes, but EveeShare does not cover damage caused by drivers.

What happens if the driver is late?

Drivers are encouraged to arrive on time. If a driver doesn't start charging by the end of the booked time, a $5 no-show fee will be charged and the session will be automatically canceled.

Can I change my price or availability anytime?

Yes. You can update your rates or charger availability schedule whenever you want.

Do I need special insurance to host?

Most home charger setups don't require anything extra, but checking your homeowner's policy is always a good idea.

What if my charger stops working?

Pause your listing until it's fixed so drivers don't book unexpectedly.

Do I need to own an EV to become a Host?

No. You don't need to own an electric vehicle to be a Host. If you own a compatible EV charger or a qualified electrical outlet, you can sign up and host drivers on EveeShare.

How much should I charge to rent out my charger or outlet?

You're free to set your own hourly price. What you charge can depend on things like your location, the type of charger or outlet you offer, your availability, nearby attractions or amenities, and local demand.

Is the Host's address visible to all users in the app?

No. A Host's address is not publicly visible. It's only shared with the Driver after the charger is booked and payment is completed, and only within 24 hours of the reservation start time.

Are Hosts allowed to have cameras or other recording devices on their property?

Yes. Hosts are allowed—and encouraged—to have cameras and other recording devices on their property for safety and security purposes. However, cameras or recording devices are strictly prohibited in any restrooms available to Guests.

Are Hosts required to provide access to anything besides the charger or outlet?

No. Hosts are only required to provide access to the charger or outlet listed in their reservation. Access to restrooms, indoor spaces, Wi-Fi, or any other amenities is entirely optional and up to the Host's discretion.
